PCGIS supports Siavonga IDP
Over the past years, the urban infrastructure of Zambia has deteriorated to such an extent that it is having negative effect on service users.
There has been a general decline in service quality, and a severe lack of access to basic urban services.
Changes to the national planning system will led to the phasing out of master plans for Intergrated Development Plans (IDP). This is one of the major documents that is supposed to be produced by the Department of Physical Planning and Housing and is important for the country, as it sets the future pace, scale, pattern and quality of development.

It is with this reason that the Council in Siavonga approached PCGIS for some accurate and well analysed maps which would support an integrated and effective planning process within the proposed planning boundary of Siavonga Town.
The provincial centre for geographic information services being part of the technical committee that was formed in Siavonga made various types of maps. In the production of these maps some field works were done for the Water Network and Power lines within the identified Planning Area for the Town.
These maps are based on a Geospatial database with multiple themes depicting the current geographical Status of infrastructure of Siavonga town.
